Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs

  • Author: Elyna
  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • For the Bombs:

    1 pound ground beef
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon onion powder
8 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into cubes
    12 slices of bacon
    Toothpicks (for securing bacon)

  • For the Dipping Sauce:

    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    2 tablespoons ketchup
    2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
    1 teaspoon white vinegar
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ground Beef:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    Mix until well combined.

  • Form the Cheeseburger Bombs:

Divide the seasoned ground beef into 12 equal portions.
Flatten each portion into a small patty.
Place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center of each patty, then carefully wrap the beef around the cheese, forming a ball. Make sure the cheese is completely enclosed in the beef.

  • Wrap with Bacon:

Wrap each beef ball with a slice of bacon, ensuring the bacon covers the entire surface.
Secure the bacon in place with toothpicks.

  • Cook the Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs:

Oven Method: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bacon-wrapped cheeseburger bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the beef is cooked through.
Grill Method: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Grill the bacon-wrapped cheeseburger bombs for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the beef is cooked through.

  • Prepare the Dipping Sauce:

While the bombs are cooking, prepare the dipping sauce.
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and paprika until well combined.

  • Serve:

Remove the toothpicks from the bacon cheeseburger bombs before serving.
Serve hot with the prepared dipping sauce on the side.

  • Tips
Cheese Variations: Feel free to use other types of cheese, such as pepper jack or mozzarella, for different flavors.
Bacon Crispiness: If you prefer extra crispy bacon, you can briefly broil the bombs for 2-3 minutes after baking.
Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
