  • Author: Elyna
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hoagie rolls
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
    Drain any excess fat.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  • Make the Sloppy Joe Mixture:

Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  • Prepare the Garlic Bread:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and dried parsley.
Slice the hoagie rolls in half lengthwise.
Brush the garlic butter mixture onto the cut sides of the hoagie rolls.
Place the hoagie rolls on a baking sheet, cut side up, and bake for 5-7 minutes until they are golden and crispy.

  • Assemble the Sloppy Joes:

Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom halves of the garlic bread hoagie rolls.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sloppy joe mixture.
Place the top halves of the hoagie rolls over the cheese.

  • Bake:

Return the assembled sloppy joes to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Serve:

Serve the Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes hot.
Enjoy your Savory Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes!
