Ingredients

For the Cookies:
– 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
– 2 large eggs
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp almond extract
– 1 tsp baking powder
– ¼ tsp salt
– ¼ cup milk
– ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
– ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

For the Glaze:
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2-3 tbsp milk
– ½ tsp vanilla extract
– Colored sprinkles (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

4. Add Eggs and Extracts:
Beat in the eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.

5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and mini chocolate chips.

6. Shape Cookies:
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

8. Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.

9. Glaze the Cookies:
Once the cookies are cool, drizzle the glaze over them and sprinkle with colored sprinkles if desired.

10. Serve:
Allow the glaze to set before serving. Enjoy your festive cookies!
