Ingredients

- 1 egg, beaten

- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped okra, onion, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the water and beaten egg to the mixture and stir until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cornmeal.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the okra mixture, stirring until a thick batter forms.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the patties and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
