Ingredients
For the Base and Topping:
- 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
For the Caramel Layer:
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
- Prepare the Base and Topping:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir to combine.
Add the melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, mixing until a crumbly dough forms.
- Assemble the Bars:
Press about two-thirds of the dough mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the base.
Pour the caramel sauce over the base layer, spreading it evenly.
- Add the Topping:
Add the ground cinnamon to the remaining dough mixture and stir until well combined.
Crumble the cinnamon dough mixture over the caramel layer, covering it as evenly as possible.
- Bake the Bars:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the caramel is bubbly.
- Cool and Serve:
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
