  • Author: Elyna
  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • For the Meat Sauce:

    2 lbs ground chuck
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
2 cans tomato sauce (15 oz each)
    3 tbsp olive oil
    5 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion or 2 medium onions, diced
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    2 tbsp minced parsley
    1 tsp dried sweet basil
    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    1 tsp dried oregano
    1 tsp sea salt
    ½ tsp black pepper

  • For the Spaghetti:

    Spaghetti pasta (quantity as needed)
    1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Prepare the Meat Sauce:
1.1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
1.2. Add the minced garlic and diced onions, and sauté until the onions are translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 5 minutes.
1.3. Add the diced green pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
1.4. Add the ground chuck to the pot, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until the meat is browned and no longer pink.
1.5. Stir in the diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce.
1.6. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, minced parsley, dried sweet basil, Italian seasoning, dried oregano, sea salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
1.7. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. For best results, let it simmer for 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.

  • Cook the Spaghetti:
2.1. While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
2.2. Add the spaghetti pasta and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the boiling water. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
2.3. Drain the pasta and set aside.

  • Serve:
3.1. Plate the cooked spaghetti and top with the savory meat sauce.
3.2. Garnish with additional minced parsley or grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
3.3. Serve hot and enjoy your deliciously savory spaghetti meat sauce!
