  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 onion, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 1/2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese, grated
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, grated onion, nutmeg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and add to the skillet with the sauce.
  7. Add the meatballs to the skillet and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with grated Swiss cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
